Ripple Recovery Center offers three levels of outpatient addiction treatment: a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and standard outpatient care (OP). All three run at our Barrington and Cherry Hill locations, and you go home every day. A clinical assessment decides where you start. New to the terms? Start with what an intensive outpatient program is and who it fits.
The three programs differ in how much time you spend in treatment each week. The care itself comes from the same clinical team, so moving between levels does not mean starting over.
| Program | What it is | Time in treatment | Often a fit when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partial hospitalization (PHP) | Our most structured outpatient level. Full days of treatment, then home each evening. | Most of the day, several days a week | You need daily structure, you are just out of detox, or weekly care has not been enough |
| Intensive outpatient (IOP) | Group and individual therapy several days a week, built around work, school, or family. | Group sessions three to five days a week, with morning and evening options | You need real structure but can stay safe and stable at home between sessions |
| Outpatient (OP) | Regular individual or group sessions with ongoing support from your clinical team. | Usually weekly sessions | You need less structure, or you are stepping down from PHP or IOP |
Not sure which fits? That is what the assessment is for. Our guide to PHP vs IOP vs OP explains how clinicians decide.
Tell us what is going on. We ask about substance use, health, and what support you have at home.
A clinician reviews your needs using the same criteria most programs and insurers use to match people to a level of care.
We explain which program fits and why. If Ripple is not the right first step, we tell you and help you find what is.
Most people move to less structure as they gain stability. If things get harder, you can move back up.
