Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines FDA-approved medication with counseling and therapy. Physicians at both Ripple locations, in Barrington and Cherry Hill, provide MAT alongside our PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs. Whether medication fits your plan is a decision you make with our medical team after an assessment.
MAT treats addiction with two things at once: medication that eases withdrawal, cravings, or the effects of the drug, and therapy that works on the reasons behind substance use. For opioid use disorder, medication is a recommended part of treatment. Withdrawal management alone, without ongoing treatment, is not considered enough.
At Ripple, MAT is not a separate program. It is part of your care in PHP, IOP, or OP, so your medication and your therapy are planned by the same team.
These are the medications approved for treating opioid and alcohol use disorder. Ask us which ones our physicians provide and which fit your situation.
